One pedestrian died and another was hospitalized Thursday morning after they were struck by a vehicle in West Austin, according to Austin-Travis County EMS.

The crash took place in the 2500 block of Hillview Road in the Tarrytown area, Austin-Travis County EMS said in a post on the social media platform X shortly after 9 a.m. yesterday

One person was taken to Dell Seton Medical Center with potentially serious injuries, EMS said, and the other was pronounced dead.

The Austin Police Department did announce what led to the crash or whether anyone had been arrested in connection with the crash as it is still in the very early stages of investigation.
