Austin police briefly closed the southbound lanes of North MoPac Boulevard (Loop 1) from Howard Lane to Parmer Lane for a few hours Saturday while officers investigated a deadly crash in the area.

A man described as in his 40s was killed in the .crash around 11:50 a.m. in the 12700 block of North MoPac Boulevard, Austin-Travis County EMS medics reported.

The lanes were reopened by Saturday afternoon.
