Pedestrian fatally hit by vehicle in North Austin
A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle in North Austin early Friday, Austin-Travis County EMS medics said.
Medics responded to the 11800 block of Interstate 35 at 4:33 a.m. after receiving a report that a person had been hit by a vehicle in the highway’s southbound lanes. The area is just north of Braker Lane.
Medics performed CPR on the person, who was described as an adult, but they were pronounced dead at the scene.
The southbound lanes of the highway at Braker Lane were temporarily closed because of the crash.
Vehicle strikes, injures pedestrian in South Austin
A pedestrian hit by a vehicle in South Austin was taken to a hospital Friday morning, Austin police said.
Police responded to the 700 block of East Stassney Lane, which is just west of Interstate 35 near South Congress Avenue.
The eastbound lanes of Stassney Lane were temporarily closed from the highway to Mira Drive, police said.
