Two people were killed and three were seriously injured in a head-on collision Sunday morning near Taylor.
According to Texas Department of Public Safety officials, a Jeep Cherokee crossed the center median on Texas 95 and hit a Dodge Stratus about 6 a.m.
The driver of the Dodge, Eloy Villareal 52, and a passenger in the Jeep, Maria Ramirez, 29, were pronounced dead at the scene. Both were from Taylor.
Officials said two other passengers i the Jeep, Robert Lee Ramirez, 31, and Roger Dominguez, 38, were in serious condition at University Medical Center at Brackenridge in Austin.
Maria Villareal, 47, a passenger i the Dodge, was in serious condition at the hospital.
It unkown why the Jeep crossed the median, officials said.
